Press Release: London, UK – 6th March 2024: base, the leading managed service provider and consultancy for cloud native media services, is delighted to announce the promotion of Guy Sabine and Jack Watts into the roles of Chief Technology Officer and Director of Software Engineering respectively.
The promotions reinforce our commitment to innovation and excellence in Cloud Native Media Services for digital media professionals.
Since joining the company in 2021 from Disney, where he held a senior cloud engineering management role, Guy has played a crucial part in scaling base’s engineering operations, improving processes, and diversifying its cloud service offerings. He has scaled its UK and US operations, further enhanced its professional services, and continues to deliver its industry-leading ISO 27001 certified Cloud Native Media Services. As CTO, Guy will oversee all Technology functions, including Cloud Platform Engineering, Global Support, Software Engineering, and Digital Transformation Programs.
Jack will continue to lead the development of the base-foundation.io SaaS integrations platform, and cloud native media software integrations, helping to transform customers’ workflows.
With nearly 20 years of experience in digital media technology and complex media supply chain services, Jack has held senior technical roles at Technicolor, and Deluxe, as well as working as a consultant for a number of leading media and entertainment companies. Building on his experience providing strategic advisory services to Hollywood studios as well as international localization and distribution organizations, and drawing on his extensive professional background and active involvement in various standards development organizations, Jack leads the software engineering initiatives and third-party partner connector roadmap for the base media integrations platform, base-foundation.io. By developing end-to-end solutions that manage media workflows, from content ingest and storage to post-production and distribution, Jack is committed to building scalable, productized, cloud native media services that meet the needs of our global customers in the media supply chain.
On his promotion, Guy shared: “My promotion to CTO is a significant step in elevating base’s position in the market.
