ChilliVault, the digital asset management service, is launching an enhanced offering in partnership with industry-leading base.

One of the leading providers to the UK media industry, ChilliVault is launching an enhanced and upgraded Version 3 to take clients to the next level of video storage.  The service, owned by digital transfer specialists ChilliBean since its launch in 2004 (as ImageVault), will move over to become part of base, one of the UK’s leading providers of managed cloud services for media companies.

Geraldine Scher, Founder Director, ChilliBean, says: “ChilliVault has been instrumental in transforming the workflow and efficiency of some of the UK’s most high-profile media companies.  When the service was created in 2004, video and audio assets only existed as physical tapes. ImageVault succeeded in liberating these assets so that organisations could have web based global access to them 24/7.  From the name change to ChilliVault in 2006, the service has gone from strength to strength.  base offers an extremely exciting home for ChilliVault, a fantastic platform from which the service can develop even further.”

ChilliVault’s clients include market-leading names in the advertising and consumer goods sectors.  The service will migrate to base with immediate effect.

Ben Foakes, Founder and Managing Director, base, says: “ChilliVault is one of the most respected platforms in the industry and we are delighted to become its new custodian.  We feel that it has huge potential for development as part of base, to the benefit of both current and prospective clients. Version 3, which we have built in a technical partnership with Veritone for AI-enabled SaaS media asset management, is the start of what we see as a bright new future for this fantastic service.”

ChilliVault 3.0 has been designed and developed by base in partnership with Veritone Inc, the creator of the world’s first operating system for artificial intelligence. The new front-end Software-as-a-Service application comprises a customised, multi-tenant version of Veritone’s Digital Media Hub platform, a cloud-native, white-label media asset management solution deployed and hosted in the cloud and, in this use case, in Amazon Web Services (AWS).  The back-end cloud storage and powerful file acceleration capabilities are deployed and hosted with IBM Cloud.  This multi-cloud architecture contributes to an enhanced service and user experience for ChilliVault 3.0 customers, notably including:

  • Unlimited IBM Aspera File Transfer speeds
  • Cloud Storage spread across 3 x IBM data centres in the UK
  • Enhanced transcoding options and processing speeds
  • Customisable metadata upload form and metadata fields
  • Gallery views of all assets with high-quality streaming proxies
  • Highly scalable, future-proof public cloud infrastructure
  • Optional dedicated branded Veritone Digital Media Hub expanded options available
  • Optional Veritone aiWARE cognitive capabilities available
  • Optional integrations with full range of base solutions
