Role: Quality Assurance & Assessment Analyst

Position Overview:
The QA & Assessment Analyst is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and functionality of complex software systems, integrations, and workflows. This role emphasizes research and assessment over traditional development tasks, requiring the candidate to evaluate software systems, identify areas for improvement, and recommend best practices in quality assurance. The position involves deep analysis of systems and workflows, designing robust testing strategies, and providing critical insights to support the delivery of high-performing, reliable solutions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in media workflows, software integrations, automation testing, and cloud-based systems.
Key Responsibilities
Testing Strategy & Assessment:
- Develop and implement comprehensive test strategies tailored to software systems and integrations
- Research and assess emerging quality assurance methodologies, tools, and frameworks to ensure alignment with industry best practices
- Evaluate software systems for compliance with project requirements, user needs, and performance standards
Test Planning & Execution:
- Design, execute, and document test cases for functionality, performance, and integration testing
- Lead efforts to build and maintain reusable, efficient automation frameworks using tools like Selenium
- Conduct in-depth manual and automated testing of event-driven services, APIs, UI, and system integrations
Collaboration & Reporting:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and SaaS product partners, to refine requirements and acceptance criteria
- Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on testing techniques and methodologies
- Integrate test case execution and reporting within CI/CD pipelines to support DevOps practices
Research & Tool Development:
- Investigate and implement advanced testing solutions such as performance testing tools and BDD frameworks
- Explore AI and machine learning applications for enhancing quality assurance processes
- Recommend tools and practices to improve software testability and maintainability
Media Workflow Expertise:
- Assess and ensure quality in Media Asset Management (MAM) systems, including metadata schema creation and integration of third-party AI module
- Support Workflow Engineers by evaluating digital media content workflows, transcoding pipelines, and distribution systems for optimal performance
- Support data migration efforts, particularly into cloud environments like AWS
Must Haves
Experience in the following products and services.
Technical Expertise:
- 4+ years of experience in automated testing with DevOps tools (e.g., Bamboo, Jenkins, Git)
- Proficient in performance testing tools and techniques
- Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases, RESTful APIs, and event-driven architectures
- Deep understanding of testing methodologies, BDD principles, and acceptance criteria
Media Workflow & Systems Knowledge:
- Experience with MAM systems, media content workflows, and media processing/distribution
- Familiarity with AWS storage tiers, data migration, and transcoding pipelines
Analytical & Communication Skills:
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities with a detail-oriented mindset
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of tailoring messages to technical and non-technical audiences
What Would Make You Stand Out:
- Proficiency in Python, Go, and Typescript testing frameworks
- Experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Exposure to AI and data platforms, including data lakes and warehouses
- Expertise in shift-left testing principles and code quality metrics
- Familiarity with testing container resiliency and integrating performance validation into CI pipelines
